Chicago 4th Of July Fireworks

Since 2011, Navy Pier has been the official home of the 4th of July fireworks show in Chicago. The 3,300-foot pier along Lake Michigan offers stunning fireworks displays all summer long, but the Independence Day Celebration is a spectacle of pyrotechnic explosions that lights up Lake Michigan. The July 4th Navy Pier Fireworks show is enhanced with a soundtrack of patriotic music in sync with the bangs and booms.

Chicago's lakefront playground, Navy Pier is the perfect destination for summer fun. You can watch the fireworks from the dock, beer garden or restaurant patios along the water. The best place to see the beautiful fireworks is from the evening cruises that depart from Navy Pier.  Hop aboard the Mystic Blue for its 4th of July Chicago Fireworks Dinner Cruise and celebrate America's birthday with awesome food and music. The Odyssey and Spirit of Chicago also offer Fireworks Dinner Cruises where you can eat, drink and dance the night away under the illuminated sky.

If you don't feel like mingling with crowds and families, there are some awesome perches around downtown Chicago where you can eye the fireworks sparkle above the cityscape.  Head to one of the rooftop bars and restaurants that face the lake to enjoy the celebration, or throw down a blanket at Millennium Park or on the grass of the Museum Campus on the between the Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium.
