Introducing Clark, the Chicago Cubs new mascot!
The Chicago Cubs unveiled their new mascot yesterday, Clark! The mascot is named after Clark Street which leads up to Wrigley Field.
In an effort to provide more family-friendly entertainment at Wrigley Field, Clark will be welcoming fans at the games, running the bases with kids on Family Sundays, and making many public appearances throughout the year. His first appearance was last night at "Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center's Pediatric Developmental Center alongside more than a dozen Cubs prospects" according to NBC Chicago.
Representatives from the Cubs say that Clark will be promoting fitness and education for young children, as well as improvements in health and wellness. At Illinois Masonic the other night, Clark and the prospective players could be seen participating in friendly games of Connect 4, tossing a ball back and forth, and taking turns on a plastic slide. Prospective players also led the children in several exercises including jumping jacks and stretches. Clark can next be seen on Thursday during a winter caravan stop.
Fans of the Chicago Cubs will soon be able to interact with the team's new mascot on Facebook and Twitter once his paws grow accustomed to posting on social media.
