Taylor Street at Ashland Avenue
This summer, celebrate Italian history and culture through food, drink, music and merriment. Join neighbors and friends in Chicago's Little Italy for the 8th Annual Taylor Street Festa Italiana. Over 4 days, about 50,000 are expected to feast on Italian cuisine, share toasts with Italian wines, sing, dance, and laugh to live music and entertainment. Savor authentic fare, from pizza to bruschetta. Want to participate in a unique and exciting experience? Take off your shoes and prepare for some squishiness, as you stomp grapes like an authentic Italian winemaker.
This family-friendly event features activities for children including games, arts and crafts, and carnival rides. Four stages will be set up with entertainment that includes live bands and DJs. Foodies will definitely want to make time for the cooking demonstrations. For those who love food, but don't mind eating fast, consider throwing your hat in the ring for the Meatball Eating Contest. Or, simply cheer on those crazy amateur competitive eaters as they go for the gusto!
Admission to Chicago Festa Italiana is a suggested donation of $5 per person. The proceeds will benefit the University Village Association. This is a community development organization for the Near West Side Community that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the neighborhood.
