Northwestern Football: The 2014-15 Season Kicks OffNorthwestern Football - Fall 2014
While the weather starts cooling down, the Big Ten Conference is heating up. College football fans can snag tickets to Ryan Stadium for a riveting showdown between Northwestern and Wisconsin on October 4th. Willie the Wildcat and the Wildcat Marching Band will star in a spirited scene in support of Northwestern University.
The Wisconsin Badgers are one of the school's biggest opponents, making the game that much more thrilling. Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald (a former all-star player) will work to lead his players toward a big win, which will help NU gain momentum early in the season. Whether you are wearing your purple or rooting for the rival, you can come out to cheer on your team.
Located on the campus of Northwestern University, Ryan Field is easily accessible from the Metra commuter railroad's Central Street transit station and Chicago Transit Authority's Central station on the purple line. It's also just a short drive away from Chicago, with plenty of parking available. With a major reconstruction around 1997, the stadium was redesigned and opened with the name Ryan Field in honor of Patrick G. Ryan, Northwestern alumni, founder of AON Corporation, and established Chairman of the Northwestern Board of Trustees.
