Summer Chicago Cruises - Lagunitas Brewing Company and Shoreline ToursChicago Summer Brew Cruise
Navy Pier's Gateway Park
Friday, Aug. 8, 2014
8 to 9:30 p.m.
This favorite Northern California microbrewery landed in Chicago in June 2014, with a taproom and brew plant at 1843 Washtenaw Avenue. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, the Taproom hosts live music, tastings, tours and other special events. Schwag is also available for sale, so stock up on Lagunitas mason jars, T-shirts and more.
During the summer months, Lagunitas Brewing Company has joined forces with Shoreline Sightseeing cruises for a series of unique beer tastings on the waters of Lake Michigan. The next one takes place Aug. 8. These "brew cruises" are for those 21 and older, and cost $39 plus tax per person. What will that get you? A whole lot of delicious micro-brew samples, plus mouth-watering appetizer pairings and an awesome musical play list. What can you expect to be on tap? Some of Lagunitas Brew Co.'s year-round fixtures like the IPA, Pils, Pale Ale, Imperial, Day Time, Maximus, and Censored brews. The brew masters will likely show up with some seasonal beers, too. Enjoy the gorgeous Chicago views while sipping these fine beers.
The brew cruise departs from the Shoreline dock at Gateway Park. The dock is located at the southwestern corner of Navy Pier. The cruise sets sail at 8 p.m., and boarding begins at 7:45 p.m. The 90-minute round trip ends at 9:30 p.m. For more information on the Lagunitas Summer Brew Cruise in Chicago and to buy tickets, go to http://www.shorelinesightseeing.com/special-events/#brew-cruisesf.
