Dubbed "the Largest Latino Festival in the Midwest," Fiesta del Sol brings fun, flavor and flair to the streets of Chicago. The four-day event is completely family-friendly, with a kids' area, carnival rides, live entertainment and local artists. Join in a soccer game, or grab a delicious bite to eat provided by local food vendors. Live music and DJs will play on two stages and at the House of Sol on Cermak Road and Loomis Street. You'll also find educational resources for parents and youth at the College Fair. University and college admissions counselors will be on hand to answer questions about their schools.
Sponsored by Pilsen Neighbors Community Council, Fiesta del Sol is a fundraiser for the community with proceeds going to youth scholarships, grants and work in community services. Parking costs $10, and is just a short walk from the festival. Avoid the hassle of driving and take public transit. The festival is served by the CTA Pink line train, which lets out at 18th and Ashland Avenue. You can also get there on bus lines #21, #60 and #8. A Mega Pass will get you on all the rides for the entire four days of the festival. Mega Passes cost $55, and can be purchased online. You can also pick them up at the PNCC office at 2026 S. Blue Island Avenue, Chicago.
