Chicago Snow Days & TONS of Ice Sculptures -
Like a winter wonderland straight out of a child's dreams, Navy Pier fills with ice sculptures by roughly 15 teams of professional sculptors from across the US and around the world, not to mention local high school teams looking to make their mark on the art. Alongside the artists, Chicago Snow Days also feature dog sled races, snowboard competitions, and more!
What Sort of Ice Sculptures Won in 2013? -
Our artists keep getting better and better! This year we gave teams 10-foot blocks of ice to turn into whatever they could imagine. The Huffington Post featured one of the crowd favorites, "Batman vs. Jaws," an incredible piece straight out of the comics. The winning sculpture, hailing from Racine, Wisconsin, featured a dragon, koi fish, and flowers. Other notable entries included a super-sized seahorse, beautiful princess, mythological Phoenix, and ferocious grizzly bear.
